Improving expressional power and validation for multilevel flow models

چکیده
Multilevel flow modeling (MFM) is a modeling method for complex technical systems in which the goals and functions of the system are explicitly described. MFM can be used as a basis for root cause analysis, where primary root causes are separated from consequential faults, in complex fault situations. Model representations for use in diagnostic reasoning usually describe causality, between parameters, faults, or process states. However, the causality of a system may vary depending on details in the construction, as well as over time with the process state. One contribution of this paper is a general method of describing varying causality in a simple and efficient way. The method has been tested using multilevel flow models. Causality is visible in measurements and can be used to increase process understanding. The standard crosscorrelation technique is insufficient for causality detection in industrial processes. Another contribution of this paper is a new method that can detect causality in industrial signals, and thus be used to validate the design of multilevel flow models.

Cascaded Multilevel Inverters with Reduced Structures Based on a Recently Proposed Basic Units: Implementing a 147-level Inverter
A multilevel inverter is capable of generating high-quality stepwise pseudo-sinusoidalvoltage with low THD , applicable to high-power and high-voltage systems. These types of topologiesmay require a large number of switches and power supplies. This leads to much cost, large size, andcomplicated control algorithms. Thus, newer topologies are being proposed to decrease the numberof power electron...
متن کاملImproving the Cooling Process of Heavy-Duty Engines through Three Dimensional Simulation of Fluid Flow in its Coolant Centrifugal Pump
This paper investigates 3D simulation of fluid flow in a centrifugal pump from the Detroit Diesel company to extract possible engine cooling trends. The velocity and pressure profile of water, the coolant, is analyzed and the characteristic curves of the pump are derived. This provides a useful evaluation of the pump performance at all working conditions. For this aim, a computational fluid dy...
متن کاملCAMAC: a context-aware mandatory access control model
Mandatory access control models have traditionally been employed as a robust security mechanism in multilevel security environments such as military domains. In traditional mandatory models, the security classes associated with entities are context-insensitive. However, context-sensitivity of security classes and flexibility of access control mechanisms may be required especially in pervasive c...
متن کاملBack-calculation of mechanical parameters of shell and balls materials from discrete element method simulations
Discrete Element Method (DEM) is extensively used for mathematical modeling and simulating the behavior of discrete discs and discrete spheres in two and three dimensional space, respectively. Prediction of particles flow regime, power draw and kinetic energy for a laboratory or an industrial mill is possible by DEM simulation. In this article, a new approach was used to assess the main paramet...
متن کامل"Technical Report" Performance Comparison of IHACRES Model and Artificial Neural Network to Predict the Flow of Sivand River
The accurate determination of river flow in watersheds without sufficient data is one of the major challenges in hydrology. In this regard, given the diversity of existing hydrological models, selection of an appropriate model requires evaluation of the performance of the hydrological models in each region. The objective of this study was to compare the performance of artificial neural network ...
